We believe that organizations have vision.

In addition to generate business and opportunities both for employees and customers, we are confident that they can make a positive difference in their societies. BGEO is based on these values and for instance the decisions of our staff and the projects undertaken are based on values which we want to share:

We believe in cooperation rather than competition
For this reason, we like open source technologies, as everybody could benefit from sharing the knowledge and effort of the developing community. Our projects are freely available to everyone to develop as well as to improve for further use. We also do the same with the open source products which were created by other companies or persons.

There is no deception with open source since it's totally transparent.
Everyone can see their source code and manage it the way they like. Non-license software does not contain any hidden ties, hence we focus on using these software solutions. We are anticipating to maintain our clients because they value our services and not because of contract clauses.

Our projects in BGEO are always based on sustainability.
This means that we keep the resources consumed and generated at the same level. This is a principle that we always apply in our organization, when dealing with urban projects as well as the development of new software for resource management.

We manage water to save it
Access to safe water is a privilege as more than 1.5 billions do not have access to it. Giswater is the technology that we developed in our company in order to find solutions to save water when possible.

In 2005, in a small office in Granollers, Barcelona a group of engineers started working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). They quickly discovered the great potential that these technologies had to offer, not only to their organization but also to other organizations and institutions related to them. In consequence, they decided to train their staff in order to familiarize them with these innovating and upcoming technologies.

In conjunction, they were developing their own driver, for water systems analysis, capable of connecting GIS software and water systems management and mathematical modeling solutions software. They have decided that the best option for this driver would be open source with the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

The new perspectives which were offered due to their mind set change brought then into the stage of abandoning traditional engineering services in order to concentrate in the development and implementation of the new software solutions and the training of their users.

In july 2014, the trademark BGEO was emerged, for this new era. There is a lot of interest from different organizations and administrative bodies in our country and in Latin America which like to improve their water management using open source solutions of high performance.
