On the 14th of November, the XVIII FORUM TIG-SIG was organized by the Associació Catalana de Tecnologies de la Informació Geoespacial (ACTIG) at the Born Cultural Center of Barcelona. The event aimed to discuss the state of geoinformation through its professionals’ perspective and was focused on four large discussion groups: Administration, Business, Society and Education.

The event was attended by around 150 people and by two of the members of BGEO, Sergio Muñoz, consultant of hydraulic models, and Albert Bofill, product and business coordinator. In the morning discussions different ideas and proposals on geoinformation were discussed, through different experts in the field.

In the afternoon and framed in a new edition of GIS BITS, Albert Bofill presented the news of the new version of Giswater 3.3, among which was highlighted the ‘info’ possibility with the new button of the plugin to the network elements without the need to have an active layer, the improvements in QGIS projects thanks to the reduction in the number of layers loaded and the new polygons that represent grilles depending on the measurements they have in the respective catalogs.

This event, which also had our sponsorship together with other companies in the sector, raised the goal of holding more specific days, throughout 2020, where answers to the questions raised in the debates should be found. BGEO will participate in these debates to collaborate with the world of geoinformation and obtain a summary document about its status and future prospects.
