{"id":8232,"date":"2025-02-17T13:11:47","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T13:11:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bgeo.es\/?p=8232"},"modified":"2025-02-17T13:11:47","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T13:11:47","slug":"gis-launch-without-adaptations-for-the-instituto-costarricense-de-acueductos-y-alcantarillado","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bgeo.es\/en\/gis-launch-without-adaptations-for-the-instituto-costarricense-de-acueductos-y-alcantarillado\/","title":{"rendered":"GIS launch without adaptations for the Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillado"},"content":{"rendered":"<p lang=\"ca-ES\" align=\"justify\"><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"color: #000000;\">At the end of last year, the consortium formed by the companies BGEO and <strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inorca.es\/\">INORCA<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opengis.ch\/\">OPENGIS<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, was awarded the contract for the implementation, start-up and maintenance of the corporate Geographic Information System for the <strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aya.go.cr\/SitePages\/Principal.aspx\">Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillado<\/a>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The institutional launch, which took place in November, lasted more than two hours and was attended by a hundred people. During the event, it was shown that the system to be implemented will be seen as the epicenter of all the geographic information of the institution and will have the highest standards of functionality, interoperability and security. The solution presented will consist of five modules such as the database, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">a thick client, a thin client<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">a Geoportal with service deployment, and an offline mobility tool, which makes it a complete Spatial Data Infrastructure for the organization.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Among the different modules, the Geographic Information System with integrated mathematical models based on the #QGIS, #Giswater, #EPANET and #SWMM solutions stands out, which has specific tools for water and sewer networks with the capacity to manage the entire life cycle of the geographic data. This module has more than 150 quality controls that, together with the pre-established topological rules and the check health and continuous monitoring tools, guarantee the highest standards of quality of work for the institution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">With this module, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">mincut<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0can be created identifying affectations, valves to be operated and subscribers without service, as well as the dynamic and automatic generation of hydrometric districts. For s<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ewerage<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> networks, the traceability of the upstream and downstream network can be available, and for all of them, mathematical models of the systems<\/span> <span lang=\"en-US\">can be created<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> w<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ith the final objective of having the same calibrations and with data in real time, which will turn it into a digital twin.<\/p>\n<p>The platform will also consist o<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">f an operational web viewer based on #QWC2 with all the basic operational information, such as <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">mincut<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">, le<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">aks or operation of hydrometric districts. This module will also have a powerful customization toolki<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">t with which <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">it can be adapted to<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> all th<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">e business processes of the institution that require any type of logic with geographic data, being useful to departments as diverse as system improvement, commercial, operational or other departments.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, a Geoportal based on Geonode will be deployed that will serve to publish all corporate geographic information with the use of maps, dashboards and <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">geostories<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> t<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">hat will achieve universal access to geographic data throughout the institution. In addition, it will allow the exchange of geographic information with other tools such as <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">GMAO<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> or Loss Control, in parallel it <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">can do so<\/span> <span lang=\"en-US\">with other institutions such as <strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/aresep.go.cr\/\">ARESEP<\/a> <\/span><\/strong>or the different municipalities served by AyA.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the platform will have a field data collection module based on an &#8216;On Premise&#8217; installation of #<strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/qfield.cloud\/\">QfieldCloud <\/a><\/span><\/strong>with the #<strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/qfield.org\/\">Qfield<\/a><\/span><\/strong> App that will allow integrated management of teams, campaigns, and projects. Furthermore, it will also have the most advanced tools for continuous monitoring and quality control of the work to guarantee the success of the data collection processes in the field.
